Initial Expectations: I havent seen anything from this series but Ive heard good things about it. Im looking forward to this one.

Initial Reaction: Its fairly soft, but also beautiful.

Who Should Watch It : Fans of soft, beautiful, and artistically captured sex

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody wanting a variety of types of sex scenes, a bit of nastier sex, or to hear the performers.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is basically non-existent. No, there is sound, but you never get to hear the performers because the only audio in the movie is music. The video is great. Its nicely presented in anamorphic widescreen, and has a slightly soft touch that looks perfect for it. The video is extremely well lit, and all looks fantastic.

Music: The audio is completely taken up by the music.

Menus: The menus are nicely done. The main menu does a nice job combining a bit of animation with the boxcover. The chapter menu is very generic, and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and a boxcover.

The Feature

Island Fever 3 works with a simple idea, beauty. The cast is kept small and good looking, and the locations for the sex are as beautiful, if not more beautiful, than the performers. Theres never a story to lead into the scenes, but theres always scenery of one kind or another.

Scene 1 - Devon and Jesse Jane

Jesse and Devon start things out on the beach by a dead tree. They kiss and play around while looking as beautiful as ever. After a walk on the beach holding hands, the girls playfully kiss each other. Jesse quickly establishes dominance and works down south on Devon before they bash their beavers together as the water slaps around them. Devon reciprocates on Jesse out of the water, before the camera fades away into the sunset.

This is an okay scene. Its fantastic eye candy, but Jesse just doesnt do a lot for me. Shes very hit or miss for me, and without hearing the girls it suffers for me. Its definitely gorgeous, but it didnt generate much heat for me.

Scene 2 - Devon and Evan Stone

After Devon plays around on the beach wearing a seashell necklace, she moves to some rocks above the sea. Shes joined by Evan, who gets a demonstration in Evans skin sword swallowing skills before he tongues her bald beaver. Evan fucks her from behind before giving Devon a gooey facial. After Evan looks like hes done, Devon strokes and sucks him a bit more to make sure she gets every last drop.

This is a very nice scene. Once again its beautifully shot, but theres also some very nice heat. Devon looks fantastic the entire time, and looks like she puts out some great energy. Theres a few effects added here, such as slowing down the action, but its doesnt really interfere with the action much.

Scene 3 - Tera Patrick and Barrett Blade

After dancing in the desert, Tera starts to diddle herself. When she gets herself horned up enough, Barrett magically appears and lets her mouth his manhood. He reciprocates by tonguing Teras twat before climbing up to fuck it missionary style. Barrett moves behind Tera to spoon her before letting her stroke him onto her tongue.

This is a pretty good scene. As always, Tera looks fantastic, and she and Barrett look like they have nice chemistry together. This scenes a little more artistic which holds things back a little, but there is some nice energy. This is a fairly hot scene.

Scene 4 - Jesse Jane and Eric Masterson

After Jesse plays in the water at the edge of the beach, shes joined by Eric in the water. They kiss passionately and grope each other before Jesse slides down to suck Erics cock as he stands knee deep in water. This is yet another beautiful scene. Jesse and Eric turn out a very nice looking and passionate scene. There looks to be some very nice chemistry, and as usual the camera captures it all very well.

Scene 6 - Jesse Jane and Evan Stone

This is a nice scene to end things with. Jesse and Evan have just as good of chemistry here as in their waterfall scene, and put in just as much energy. This is a hot and passionate scene.

Island Fever 3 is a beautiful movie. Yes, the cast is limited, but they mix it up nicely for the number of scenes and locations. There looks to be nice chemistry in the scenes, but it often doesnt come out as well as it might because you never have any actual audio from the stars. Its also hurt a little because the locations are so beautiful you never really know which place to look. The main thing that might hold Island Fever 3 back for many people is that the sex is soft and fairly limited. Seven of the eight scenes are fairly soft couples scenes, and at times they just seem to run together. That said, if you want a softer and beautiful couples movie, its going to be hard to beat Island Fever 3.

The Extra Stuff

Bios are included for Jesse Jane and Devon, each of which contains a photo and plenty of personal information. The photo gallery contains over fifty great looking snapshots and full screen photos from the movie as well as shooting the movie. It can be viewed either as a slideshow or at your own speed. Trailers are included for roughly twenty of Digital Playgrounds releases. Theres also company information, a behind the scenes featurette, and an audio commentary. If thats not enough, theres also a second DVD with the movie in HD-DVD.

Jesse Jane, Devon, Robbie D., and Evan Stone team up for a commentary. With this group, it should come as no surprise that this is one heck of a fun commentary. They talk about shooting the movie, as well as anything else that comes to mind. The bullshit flows freely here, and it leads to plenty of laughs for both the commentators and the listeners. Jesse, Robbie, and Evan pretty much lead the charge throughout the commentary, but Devon joins in now and then. This is a fantastic commentary, and every viewer owes it to themselves to listen to it.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts about a half hour. Not surprisingly with Evan Stone and Robbie D., theres plenty of humor throughout the featurette. It captures the making of the movie, as well as all the other fun the cast and crew had while making it, day by day. You also get to see a different side of the girls, and Im amazed at how good Jesse can look naturally. Normally theres something about her that doesnt do a lot for me, but seeing her here she is much, much hotter. The only thing that really interfered with it for me was all the fart and shit humor. Normally I dont mind it, but it went a little far here. Even with the fart noises added in throughout the featurette, this is a very enjoyable featurette.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, Island Fever 3 can be found online for between about $20 and $28 with a few stores offering it near the low end. If you like artistic and beautiful sex, this ones probably well worth your money. The sex is fairly soft, but the technical aspects and extras show some nice care. This is a very nice DVD.

Note to Digital Playground: In the future, please include the option of an audio track where you can hear the performers. Other than that, you did a very nice job here.

This was my first Digital Playground DVD, and from what I had heard about them, I got exactly what I expected. This is one of their newest titles, and is basically being hailed as a work of art. Well, here's what I thought. Please keep in mind, this is a review of the movie only, not the complete DVD package:

Video: The selling point of the DVD, and for a very good reason. With the exception of the Tera Patrick scene, the film looks amazing. Obviously, seeing it in High Definition gives us a good idea of what to expect from porn in the future. Crisp and clear, it's a visual treat. Too bad ...

A quick & dirty review, I had never checked out a Digital Playground movie before. I picked the wrong movie to do so. This movie features the first(?) three contract girls that DP signed. I figured where else would I get to see Tera, Jesse Jane, and Devon in a movie?

Well, I don't think I did cause I slept through most of this crap. I mean I was watching on the couch the first two scenes, woke up near the end, and nothing had changed.
