The Short Story

Initial Expectations: I havent seen much from Zero Tolerance, but this is supposed to be one of the best all girl movies of the year. How could I not go into this one without high expectations?

Initial Reaction: Its very well shot, but in the end fairly devoid of emotional depth.

Who Should Watch It : Fans of softer and prettier all girl action

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody wanting a variety of feelings to the scenes

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are very nicely done. The audio is clear and well balanced throughout the movie, and I dont think I heard a single background noise. The video is also very nicely done. Its clear and well lit without having any annoying camera motion. Its only fault is that its shot in the widescreen format and given a non-anamorphic transfer rather than the anamorphic transfer the widescreen format deserves.

Music: The music is very well done, and definitely helps out the overall movie. It often has a fairly porno style and is sometimes overly familiar, but it changes with every scene and often varies its balance.

Menus: The main menu is okay, and blends a nice still of the cast with a little animation. The chapter menu is very generic, and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene.

The Feature

Girlvana captures six scenes of all girl action in various settings. Theres the club, the pool, the massage parlor, and many more. Sometimes theres a little setup and sometimes the scene gets right to it.

Scene 1 - Angel Cassidy and Jenna Haze

After they hit the club scene a bit, bottle blonde Angel sets her sights on cute brunette Jenna across the room. Jenna quickly notices and returns a few looks before Angel heads to the bathroom with Jenna following soon after. When Angel sees Jenna heading into a stall, she follows her in and they kiss passionately while helping each other strip down and feeling their way around each other. Jenna braces herself against the way and playfully calls Angel a slut as she moves down to eat and finger her pussy. They move out of the stall so Jenna can lick Angels gash while Angel lays on the counter by the sink before letting Angel work on her again as she leans against the counter and then sits back on it. The toys are okay, but I think the scene could have been just as hot without them. Jenna and Angel give Girlvana a very nice start.

Scene 2 - Charlotte Stokely, Julia Bond, and Karina Kay

This is another very nice scene. The girls have nice chemistry all around, and although part of me would have liked it if Charlotte would have kept some of the lesbian newbie feeling that the scene started with, her enthusiasm throughout the scene was also quite nice. This is another hot scene.

Scene 3 - Codi and Ria Lynn

This is a nice scene. The best thing about it to me was the lack of toys, although I can see them coming out quite well by having them lying there next to the pool or under the poll futon. That said, the scene just went back and forth, and never really seemed to go anywhere. Part of my problem with it was also that although Ria did a lot for me, Codi was so heavily tattooed that I really didnt find her that attractive. The girls did seem to have a bit of fun, but I just couldnt get into this scene too much. This scene makes it just past the average level, mostly due to a great start.

Scene 4 - Alektra Blue, Dillan Lauren, and Eva Angelina

Things seem to go to jail next, where Alektra, Dillan, and Eva get it on while five others watch. Alektra is thrown back and has her clothes ripped open for her pussy to get licked while Eva watches with a smoke and a couple other girls play with her tits. Theres just something that felt slightly off with the scene, although I do really like how it had a darker feeling than the other scenes.

Scene 5 - Charmane Star, Kaiya Lynn, Nyomi Zen, and Teanna Kai

Kaiya and Nyomi seem all but forgotten through much of the scene, and because of it I had a hard time getting into it. This scene finishes the first DVD on a low note.

Scene 6 - Alexia, Celeste Star, Gigi, Kaylynn, Kristen Price, Lexxi Tyler, Mackenzie Mack, and Sammie Rhodes

The girls emerge from everywhere around a stairwell and help each other get dressed in baby blue and black outfits for some photos. They head into an elegant parlor and pair up to play with each other. They dont waste a lot of time before going down below for some lunch, and move around to play with each other a bit too. The girls break apart and join back up for bigger and smaller groups, and after working each other over for a while they break out some toys. Some girls get strap-ons and others get glass toys for a little anal action. Finally, the scene fades out with the girls kissing and many feeling like theyre not close to done.

This is a decent orgy. Ill readily admit that Im not much of an orgy person as every time the chemistry seems to build between a group the camera moves and I lose it. This one also started off very slowly for me due to the photo shots at the beginning that added pretty much nothing to the scene. The split between toys and no toys was also sharp as can be. The scene is all shot very nicely and has an elegant look to it, but that just wasnt enough for me.

Girlvana is an above average movie. Theres some very nice action in places here, with Jenna Haze and Angel Cassidys club bathroom scene at the start of the movie easily being my favorite in the movie and Charlotte, Karina, and Julias locker room play being my second. Sadly, the longer the movie went on, the less it worked for me. The girls are cute and nicely dressed, and the action is shot very well. The problem with it is that although the locations changed, the action never seemed to. There was virtually the same feeling in every scene, be it girls getting it on in a club bathroom, girls playing in what appeared to be prison, or girls getting it on in a massage parlor. It all comes off as very appealing to the eye, but I never had a feeling of much depth beyond the first scene. I can appreciate the style to Girlvana, but the action in it rarely felt fulfilling to me and frequently left me ambivalent about the action and the movie.

The Extra Stuff

The photo gallery includes nearly a hundred great looking snapshots. Theres also a behind the scenes featurette and a bonus scene.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts just over an hour, and unfortunately doesnt have a single chapter break. After a few still photos are shot, the camera moves to Jenna Haze in the makeup chair who talks about Orange County before getting dressed and chatting a bit more while showing off a bit. She keeps it up posing for her photos with Angel adding even more personality. They move on to shoot the scene, both in the club and bathroom with The Quaze appearing to direct the entire thing. Julia is next, first with a photo shoot and then talking about her paws and having fun with girls in the chair. Charlotte talks about being a ZT virgin, how theres most everything you can think of for porn in Florida, and getting into porn. Karina talks about being more of a lesbian than anything, getting into the business, and having a girlfriend in porn before they move to the locker room with Quaze once again appearing to direct everything. Quick interviews with Eva and Dillan are mixed in before it moves on to Charmane, Teanna, Nyomi, and Kaiya and their scene. Of course, things finish up with the orgy and plenty of comments and fun with the girls. Of course, The Quaze adds plenty of humor throughout the entire featurette while he directs the action. Its a pretty darn good featurette, and my only real problem with it is that each scene doesnt get its own chapter.

Bonus Scene - Alicia Rhodes and Bobbi Eden

Right from the start they give the feeling of great potential between them, and that feeling never goes away. I love how they dont just take turns doing the same thing to each other while working down a checklist. This is a smoking hot scene, and much better than some of the scenes in the actual movie.

Currently, many of Zero Tolerances DVDs can be found online for between $11 and $25, with many stores offering them for around $20. Rent this one before you buy it. Although it didnt work overly well for me, I can see some people getting into it and I have no doubt that those people will get into it in a very big way. I found the action nice, but nothing special. The technical aspects were very nice with the exception of the non-anamorphic transfer, and theres some nice effort put into the extras. This is a decent movie on a very nice DVD.

Note to Zero Tolerance: Although this one didnt go over overly well with me, its nice to see you trying for the bigger budget fuck flick while keeping a nice artistic eye. I hope you try something like this again and that next time it gets an anamorphic transfer.

This was the one scene next to the first one with Jenna Haze and Angel Cassidy that best captures g/g action the way I love seeing it. We are taken to a pool where we see Codi sitting in the shallow end on the steps taking in the sun with her boobs out nicely and you see Ria watching from nearby. Soon she swims over and the girls start passionately kissing but we aren't close enough ...
