Well, I finally got the guts to write a movie review, and while this may be the umpteenth review of "The Fashionistas", I like this movie so much that I just had to review it. First of all, this is not your typical porno film, which is what I love about it. Okay, The Fashionistas seemed a little daunting since it clocks in at just over four hours, but I ended up caving in to all the hype, and finally watching it. Now, was it a good four hours? Just look at my damn rating to figure that one out!

The Movie: I'm not going to do a scene by scene breakdown for this title. There are probably ten other reviews that have breakdowns, so you can check those out for that. I will say one thing though. All of the sex scenes in this movie are top notch, with no real duds at all.

There isnt as much sex as say, a Gonzo feature or even some of Privates output, but the sex that there is, is extreme, sado-masochistic and directed to within an inch of its life. This is a very impressive movie, as you really care about that characters and follow the story like you would a big budget Hollywood epic. But...

The music was okay but sometimes it was boring and unnecessary. Silence when two people are going at in intensly is often more interesting as you believe that you are there.

Well where does one begin to describe this epic of a movie. It is unlike any other porn movie I have ever seen. There are several reviews already telling you the story of this excellent movie so I won't retell the story again rather I will give you what I thought of the movie. Plot: Rocco is a successful European fashion designer named Antonio. He is coming to America to do an S/M themed line of clothing and is looking for an American partner. Taylor St.Claire's company Fashionistas is trying to get the contract. Taylor will do anything to get the contract but little does she know her little assistant "Jesse" has some plans of her own. There is a side plot of Rocco trying to convince Caroline Pierce to carry this new line in the Department Stores she buys for.

The movie opens with a high class fashion show like you would see for any major designer. Then all of a sudden these latex clad women show up, rip the dresses off the women and sit on some guys face. The movie then cuts to a hotel room and you realize that this was all a DVD that Rocco was watching in his hotel room.

Scene 1: Rocco comes out of his hotel room to find a vinyl clad Kate Frost stuck in the hall way. She is locked out of her hotel room and wants to know if she can climb over Rocco's balcony to get in. Before Rocco can finish asking her why she doesn't go down stairs and get another key Taylor St.Claire arrives. It turns out that Kate is Taylor's slave and her Mistress is not at all pleased with her performance. Taylor shoves her into the hotel room and starts spanking the crap out of her. Rocco, now back in his room can hear all of this so he climbs over the balcony to see what is going on. He stands there mesmerized as the lovely Miss Frost's ass is spanked cherry red. I would love to see what was cut out of this scene for the American version because even as it stands this is some of the most intense domination related footage I have seen in a hardcore scene. By the time this scene is over both parties are visibly spent and you probably will be too. And this movie is just getting started.

Scene 2: Belladonna even with almost no make-up on is for some reason still hotter than hell to me. There is something about that woman that just exudes sexual energy. She is at home in her loft and is watching a S/M sequence in which a woman is being dominated by another woman on TV and slowly starts to strip out of her clothes. The sequence where she removes her shirt in front of the mirror is fantastic. It is hard to describe since she is doing it to herself but this may help you picture it. If you have seen the movie Starship Troopers and you remember the tent sequence where the guy grabs the woman's arm as she is pulling off her shirt so that her mouth and breasts are exposed but her eyes are covered. Well it is like that but somehow even hotter which is amazing considering Bella is all alone. She then slowing strips out of the rest of her clothes in what has got to be the best strip sequence ever filmed bar none. By the time it is revealed that the person she is watching be abused is herself all you can do is watch in awe. I would also be remiss if I didn't mention that the musical scoring of this scene is shear perfection. Bella never speaks and the music just adds to the feeling of building intensity. Now I am wondering if what happens next should be considered a separate scene but I will include it in this one. Taylor St.Claire arrives at Bella's loft. It turns out that Taylor is Bella's Mistress and after she has watched her little slave work herself into a near frenzy she decides she needs to be disciplined for her transgressions. Along with the normal spanking and slapping Taylor also smothers Bella with that beautiful ass and pussy of hers. Again this scene is just sexually intense in all aspects. At one point Taylor uses an acrylic dildo bigger than my forearm to fuck Bella up the ass. I could continue on but whatever words I could come up with pale next to what actually occurs on the screen.

Scene 3: Rocco Siffredi goes to leave Fashionistas only to find his pants missing (no sex wasn't involved) but you will find out what happened to them later. When he goes to find Taylor he encounters two latex clad beauties (Sharon Wild and Friday) waiting in the back room in submissive positions. The scene involves a masked woman (you know it is Bella but Rocco does not) being tortured by two men and makes use of some interesting music. They use clothes pins on her pussy, tits and lips. I am not going to call what happens next a scene though it definitely builds up to one. The setting is in an S/M club that Taylor is taking Rocco and the buyer for a Department Store chain (Caroline Pierce) to for a meeting and fashion show. The opening act is a male/female dance team that can actually dance and I am fairly certain they were professionals (confirmed in the commentary). Then comes a segment called the Domination of X which has a masked black man dominating a woman billed as Casee in the credits but whom older fans may recognize as Careena Collins. Then Bella is wheeled out in the cage that we have seen her in during the earlier segments chained up as usual. This is a slow motion segment that is again totally mesmerizing (anyone know another word for mesmerizing?). Again it is one of the most amazing pieces of filmmaking I have ever seen. Rocco is in awe (and so will you) as Bella again displays her deep throating abilities on a red dildo.

Scene 5: Caroline, Manuel and Rocco go exploring the S/M club only to find a private party that they get in to. Inside you will find some guy getting his balls tortured, ADT's own Tricia Devereaux getting electric shock torture, Monique getting dominated by a masked guy and an unidentified woman getting spanked. Caroline is amazed by the cock torture as she is just about everything going on in the room. Rocco starts to dominate her and has her try out all of the aspects of the room. Manuel does a good job of taking charge of the sex scene once Rocco leaves. I have never seen him or Caroline Pierce work before but they are both really very good. Manuel does a great job of fucking the shit out of her and Caroline seems to really be enjoying herself.

Scene 6: Rocco is looking for the woman he saw in the cage. He finds the room with her stuff in it but she is no where to be found. Chelsea Blue, Taylor St.Claire and Gia (Chelsea's slave girl) come in and make him submit. Taylor and Chelsea dominate him and it is amazing. You always wonder if it is possible for a woman to dominate a man like Rocco but these two beautiful women make it look not only easy but amazing as well. They make him lick Gia's ass while Chelsea has Taylor suck his cock. Then Taylor smoothers him with her big tits again while Gia sucks his cock. One of the first things you hear John Stagliano say is that if he makes money off of this movie he will go buy himself an Aston Martin (I hope he has a color already picked out). Then while they are setting up for the critical shot of Bella tied up you get to see some of the different things they tried as well as "Buttman" being the pervert he is and "just checking" that Bella can deep throat Rocco with her ass in his face by placing himself in the part of Rocco. This entire segment is fantastic in that unlike some behind the scenes that just show us the filming of the sex scene this one includes the rehearsals as well as showing some of the problems that were experienced by the performers. Such as how hard it was for Belladonna to breath wearing the latex mask while giving blowjobs. The fact that two of the latex outfits were ripped during filming (Taylor's in her scene with Kate Frost and Taylor's again in her scene with Rocco) and neither of them was supposed to. The fact that Kate Frost broke Rocco's dick I think by biting it but I didn't catch exactly how she did it (found out on the commentary was that it happened on her back teeth when he was face fucking her). Comments:

So how do you rate what you have come to realize is the best adult film you have ever seen? I get the feeling that anything negative I might be able to say would be a little like spitting in the ocean and then thinking I raised the level. This movie is that good.

Well let's start off with the Director. While most people can't agree on much I am fairly certain that 90% of all porn viewers will agree that John Stagliano is one of the best directors the adult world has ever seen and this movie only proves that. Each scene is spectacularly done and even when you listen to the commentary and find out about all the "mistakes" he thinks he made in the movie you still can't see them or just dismiss them as being unimportant. Visually there are some of the most amazing shots that I have ever seen anywhere. Someone needs so sell a poster sized print of the shot of Belladonna all oiled up and chained with clamps all over her in the cage. I would hang that shot in my living room it is that amazing.

Now lets go to the cast. First you have the female lead in Belladonna. This woman IS the greatest thing going in the adult industry. Everyone knew she was a sexual dynamo before this movie but after this movie they all know she can act as well. Though I am still trying to figure out how she got the "Best Supporting" vice "Best Actress" nomination for her role. Then you have the male lead in Rocco Siffredi. Now there will be those that say Rocco is not the best actor in the world but no one will say that he isn't the best actor for THIS role. Taylor St.Claire shines as the dominating Helena who gets what she wants but loses everything in the end and she had better win "Best Actress". My only regret is that I didn't get to see more of Chelsea Blue. I woman I think is absolutely gorgeous and I would have love to see her and Rocco together.

For the sex I will say that this movie is the most amazing thing I have ever seen (have I said that before) though I must say that this movie may be a little intense for your average porn viewer. The strong S/M theme only makes this movie more amazing to me but may turn some people off. I really loved the way they let the women's make-up get ruined from the beginning of the sex scene to the end. Instead of them looking like they just got out of the make-up chair they look like they have just been fucked really hard (which they had been) and I for one loved it. If I was going to say anything bad about any of the sex scenes it would be Scene 5 (Caroline/Manuel and Monique/Brandon). This scene inter-cuts between the two couples and I really don't like that especially in a scene as intense as the Caroline/Manuel pairing. You also have what would be an award winning scene in any other movie but in a movie in which you have the Rocco/Taylor St.Claire pairing and the Rocco/Belladonna pairing this one just doesn't quit live up. Also speaking from a strictly plot basis this scene was not really necessary for the movie. I understand what they were trying to accomplish with this scene as far as the plot goes but they really didn't resolve the whole issue with Caroline's character so you don't really know what happens after her and Manuel are done, maybe in Fashionistas Part 2 (I should be so lucky).

For the technical aspects of this DVD it is everything you have come to expect from Evil Angel and more. It comes on 3 discs. Two discs are for the movie and one is for more extras. The Behind the Scenes alone were longer than your average porn movie. There are some eggs hidden here and trust me when I say they are worth finding. One of the things I didn't like however happened during the commentary when all sound went away. The first time it happened was during the Kate Frost/Rocco pairing and it happened with no warning so I thought the disc was defective but then on disc two it happened again though this time John warned you in advance it was coming. However, just as in radio there is nothing worse than dead air. If you aren't going to talk you should have laid in music or just put the regular movie audio in instead of leaving it empty.

Also along the DVD line is the packaging. The box for this DVD is amazing. The photo's used and the layout are fantastic. I have made fun of the fact that AVN gives awards for things like best box cover design but this one definitely deserves it. You also get a CD of the movies soundtrack as a fourth disc. For those of you that joke about that listen to it first. As I have already said the music for this movie is amazing and is worth listening to all on it's own.

So what have we decided. Well we have decided that this movie is a MUST BUY for anyone who considers themselves a true adult fan but may be a little intense for some people. While I have some minor issues with certain things they aren't important enough to change any of the ratings at all. I give this a perfect score across the board and I wouldn't have cared if they wanted $100 for this movie I would have paid it gladly. The reason the rating portion of this review does allow that is because it only would allow me to enter 4 number.
