The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are nicely done for gonzo porn. The audio is pretty clear and well balanced, but there are a couple locations that make for some hollow sounds when the girls get into it. The video is also nicely done. It has a little grain, which I think is probably due to John Stagliano wanting to give things a bit more of an artistic feel. The lighting is extremely well done, and often looks artistic without being pretentious.

Of course, the main draw here for many will be the lovely Ms. Tricia Devereaux in her only Buttman appearance. Her scenes alone are good enough for the price of this winner, and for her to not win an award for either of her scenes is just wrong! Yes, XRCO gave Buttmans Toy Stories the best feature of the year (which was extremely well deserved), but Tricias scenes were amazing! Buttmans Toy Stories is a bit nastier, but at the same time I cant help but recommend it for many couples. You can feel a respect for women through all of Staglianos work, and I think his style will make the nastier sex acts here much more palatable for many female viewers while the chemistry in the scenes will draw them in as well. I know that I couldnt not smile watching most of this movie just because theres such a natural ease and enjoyment of sexuality throughout the entire movie. Buttmans Toy Stories deserves to have a spot on every porn fans shelf and just might be the best Buttman movie Ive watched so far.

The Extra Stuff

The photo gallery includes roughly fifty very nice looking snapshots. Filmographies are included for the entire female cast, as well as a cast listing by scene. Bios are included for both John Stagliano and the lovely Tricia Devereaux. Theres also an audio commentary, extra footage, and weblinks.

John Stagliano and Tricia Deveraux team up to give an audio commentary. John talks quite a bit about the technical aspects while Tricia talks about almost everything else. They talk about everything from the artwork on the wall to the sex acts in the movie, and you can even learn a bit about videography and cameras. Not surprisingly, its a great commentary. Tricia and John are fun and informative, and both sound like theyre having a great time watching the movie. That said, there are a couple minor problems, or more like one minor problem and one personal annoyance. The audio level varies a bit through the commentary, which makes some of it hard to hear (and its mostly on Johns end). The personal annoyance is that the movie audio stays at the same level throughout the entire commentary, whether Tricia and John are talking or not. They skip past most of the middle two scenes, but rather than having the audio from the movie come up to the regular level, its left at the low level so that if you want to keep watching the movie you have to switch back to the main audio track. This is one of Evil Angels earliest commentaries, so I wouldnt be surprised if its been changed for current commentaries.

Finally, theres nearly thirty six minutes of extra footage. Tricia easily dominates the extra footage, with roughly twenty six minutes. You get to see everything from more of Tricia working out and talking with John to more of her tease and sex. Theres some areas where you can see why it was cut, such as a bit of digital breakdown or inconsistent lighting, but theres also some that seems every bit as good as it was in the movie. Mina and Reka are next, with about five minutes of extra footage as they take on Mike and Frank. Finally, theres about five minutes with John admiring Stefany and having a little fun with her before Christoph has his fun with her. Its a great collection of extra footage, and although there are some short segments it doesnt feel quite as chopped up as other extra footage collections. This is a great extra and definitely adds to the overall DVD.

The sex is fantastic, the technical aspects are very well done, and theres some great effort put into the extras. This is how a DVD should be done!
