Initial Expectations: Im rarely disappointed by anything from the Evil Empire, and Inari Vachs and Cheyenne Silver give me even more hope for this one.

Initial Reaction: I think its the best Ive seen from John Leslie yet.

Who Should Watch It : Anybody who wants artistically shot sex without a plot

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody who wants their porn primal and without any kind of artistic shots.

Audio /Video Quality: John Leslie is well known for having an artistic style to his movies, which often shows in the technical aspects. The audio is clear and pretty well balanced, but there are a few spots where things dont sound like youd expect them to be (although not in a bad way). The video looks like its shot on film, but if I remember correctly, he shoots on video and then applies a filter to give it a film-like quality. The lighting feels very natural, so theres quite a few shots with shadows right where it would seem like there should be shadows. Although some of these things might be a detraction for some people, I have no doubt that this is exactly how Mr. Leslie wants things to look and sound. Its part of what gives his features an artistic feel, and works very well. The only real complain I have about any of the technical aspects is theres a little variation at some of the edges thats a bit of a distraction.

Music: None.

Menus: Evil Angel has always put a lot of care into their menus, and theres nothing different here. The main menu is nicely organized and has a little nice animation. The chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on the leading lady in that scene, and even lets you jump in to one of several spots in the scene rather than going directly to the start. Finally, theres a fetish menu that lets you jump to some of the common sex acts, such as blowjobs, anal sex, DPs, etc.

The Feature: Fresh Meat has a reputation as being John Leslies artistic sex series. Theres no plot lead-in to any of the scenes, and no common thread between the scenes outside of Leslies distinctive style. Each scene gets quickly down to the action, and cuts out shortly after the pop, only staying long enough to show any worthwhile reactions.

Kailani Reid starts out modeling for Kyle Stone and his camera while John Decker plays with Malitias pussy. John and Malitia continue to exchange oral favors, and soon after Kailani starts sucking Kyles cock after deciding shes had way too much work and not enough play. John quickly moves on to fuck Maltia against the kitchen counters in a few positions, while Kailani rides Kyle across the room. Its an interestingly done scene, since Kailani and Kyle are almost a filler between the shots of Malitia and John. Malitia and John have a ton of energy going between them, and they easily carry the scene. Surprisingly, although Malitia and John carry most of the scene, the scenes between Kailani and Kyle never bring the scene down, which makes me hesitant to call their portions filler. Malitia finally finishes things up with a nice facial and sucking out Johns joy juice, while Kailani takes Kyles cock creme in and around her mouth as well as all over her chest. Its a great finish for both couples, and a great scene to open the feature with.

Cheyenne Silver, known as Wildcat back when this was shot, starts out the next scene wearing a ball gag and some silky pajamas, which she removes to show some white lingerie. Inari Vachs and Shelbee Myne start off the next trip looking naughty and nice. Inari takes the nice role, looking almost virginal in a small pink bikini, while Shelbee takes on the naughty role in a red latex suit. It really makes this scene work great, and finishes the feature up with the same consistency that Im sure is going to drain plenty of balls and wet many a pair of panties before a lot of people even get to the end.

Fresh Meat 5 is a great gonzo fuck flick. Each and every scene was top notch and had a realistic feel that rarely seems to be found in porn. The realistic feel carried itself throughout both the performances and the camera work. It often felt as if you were right there in the room while John Leslie led you around the by the hand pointing at what you should look at. You get some close-ups, but even they feel like theyre from a realistic perspective rather than a camera thats been clipped to the male talents nuts. Its an amazing blend of reality and artistic photography and only strengthens the performances in the feature. Its even done so well that Id even recommend people who havent cared for John Leslie in the past check it out. Cheyenne Silver easily made this one worthwhile for me, but Tye and Suzy Q werent far behind. Fresh Meat 5 is easily one of the best features Ive seen from John Leslie, and a DVD that Im not letting out of my sight for quite a while.

Extras: The photo gallery contains about forty amazing looking snapshots. Filmographies are included for Inari Vachs, Malitia, Shelbee Myne, Suzy Q, Tye, and Wildcat (aka Cheyenne Silver). Trailers are included for The Voyeur 7, The Voyeur 8, and Fresh Meat 13. Theres also the standard biography of John Leslie. The main extra, however, is about twenty eight minutes of bonus footage thats nicely broken apart by scene. Its a bit of a mix between extra footage and behind the scenes, since you occasionally hear John Leslies comments with the stars and see some of the photo gallery being shot. Unlike many extra footage offerings, you get a little extra here that wasnt in the movie, such as Tom Byron getting a little anal attention. Unfortunately theres nothing here from Tyes scene, but its still a great selection of extra footage. Although its nothing like an extra scene, theres enough here thats treated well enough that it makes a great extra.

Overall: Currently most of the Fresh Meat series can be found online for between $20 and $30 with most stores offering it for around $25. Take the time to check this one out even if you havent been a fan of John Leslies work in the past!

Note to Evil Angel / John Leslie: As usual, great job. The only thing I can think of that might make it better is if you had a secondary menu for the extra footage that would allow you to jump to the extra footage for a specific scene. This could even be worked into the cast listing by scene that youve been putting on most of your recent DVDs.
