Initial Expectations: Although I can?t think of any of it that I?ve watched yet, I?ve heard great things about Katja Kean?s work for Private. Turning her loose with a top notch company like Wicked should be a heck of a good thing!

Initial Reaction: It?s a good feature, but although Katja is in every scene they?re frequently stolen by her partners.

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is extremely clear, but much of it?s dubbed so it should be. A lot of the audio in the sex synchs very well with the video, but some of it is pretty obviously dubbed. The video looks extremely good. Its crisp and clear and has almost no signs of any problems.

Music: Most of the music is a kind of techno style, and some of it takes on the feel of the music in sports highlight reels. It?s very fitting but normally a little loud. Sometimes it?s even the only audio in the scene, which kills the heat a bit for me.

Menus: The menus have a great sports feel to them while keeping the sex right there as well. The chapter menu lets you select a scene based on a small clip and a scene number.

The Feature: After growing up around several brothers, dating jocks, and even getting a little media exposure for being caught with a married ballplayer, Katja Kean now writes a sports column. She knows sports, which gets most guys, but the sex she works into it grabs the rest of them, as well as a good deal of women also. Each scene in Katja Kean?s Sports Spectacular revolves around a different sport for her column, which Katja partakes in and normally gives a nice tease to start out. It?s very similar in style to some of Brad Armstrong?s other features such as Swift Picks and Jenna?s Built for Speed.

Catcher Katja Kean starts things out with baseball taking on batter Eric Price and ump Herschel Savage. Katja Kean?s Sports Spectacular does a great job of showcasing Katja Kean with a fun theme, but unfortunately its subject holds it back from being a truly great feature.

Overall: Currently, Katja Kean?s Sports Spectacular can be found online for between $23 and $28 with nobody in the middle. If you?re a huge fan of Katja Kean, this one?s a no-brainer. For everybody else you might want to rent it first before shelling out the big bucks. The movie itself is fun, but the sex is only good and not great. Wicked has done a nice job with some of their standard extras, but has done a top notch job on the transfer.

Note to Wicked: Nice job here, but I really think this one would have benefitted from a commentary by Brad and Katja, if she?d be willing.
