Initial Expectations: This is only my second Twistys DVD to check out, so I'm going in with a fairly open mind as well as quite a bit of hope due to the great cast they have here.

Initial Reaction: Each scene has nice chemistry and camera work, but the scenes rarely come close to delivering on anything to do with ass worship.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are pretty good. The audio is clear and well balanced, and I didn't notice any background noises. The video is presented in anamorphic widescreen, and looks pretty good. There are a few areas which get a little flat, but normally there's nice lighting and very little pixelation or grain.

Music: There's a little music to start out some of the scenes, but it's pretty generic and quickly disappears.

Menus: The main menu is extremely generic and gives a few clips from the movie with the title in way that seems not just generic, but also extremely cheap and careless. The chapter menu surprisingly shows a bit of care, and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and the name of the girl in it.

That said, the scene had a couple things that held it back for me. First, there's a very generic feeling about it with no real spark to let it really shine. The other thing is that with a title like Butts on Display I expected a fair amount of butt worship, and that doesn't happen here. The scene seems to be more about Carmella's tits than her ass, and even the positions don't really feel like they're chosen to show off her ass much. Don't get me wrong, this is an enjoyable scene that did work for me fairly well, but it also fell short for me due to not delivering on the premise when I love a good butt fetish movie.

That leaves this scene feeling like a pretty standard scene, and although I did enjoy the action I also felt a little disappointed at the lack of ass focus.

The other thing that really worked for me was the humor of the scene, which was added not just with some of Sara going a little over the top, but in the cell with Ivan as the cellmate. I suppose for some this might be a distraction, but for me it added a few laughs and ended up being the icing on the cake in this scene. This is easily one of my favorite scenes in the movie, as well as one that actually delivers everything it feels like it should.

Butts on Display is one of those rare movies that's both enjoyable as well as disappointing at the same time. There's plenty going for it, starting with some simple but fun setups and moving on with good chemistry and above average camera work. At the same time, with a title like Butts on Display I went into this release expecting to see more effort than average being put into the girls showing off their butts. Unfortunately, the movie repeatedly fell short in this area and only Sara Sloane and Alexis Texas really delivering what seemed like the full package should be for the movie. Carmella Bing, Phoenix Marie, and Simone Style also turned out nice scenes, but Simone's scene came off as just a standard scene while the focus seemed to be more on boobs for Carmella and Phoenix than it did butts. With a different name Butts on Display would have come off as a stronger movie as it wouldn't have given itself a premise to work around.

The Extra Stuff

The photo gallery lasts nearly three minutes with about five seconds per nice looking snapshot. There's also cumshot recaps and a behind the scenes featurette.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts about three and a half minutes. Kory Fame starts out talking about shooting the opening for Alexis Texas' scene (and comes off sounding more like he's the director for this release than the credited Bobby Manila) before they shoot a bit of Alexis' amazing ass. You get a couple little outtakes outside as well before moving inside where he works with them shooting the scene on the bed. You also get a little shooting the end of Sara Sloane's scene. This is a decent little behind the scenes for the short running time. It adds a little to the overall DVD, but not much.

Currently, many Twistys DVDs can be found online for between about $15 and $25 with most stores offering them near the lower end. At the low end this one's a decent buy if you're not in it for the ass focus. There's nice chemistry and a fun feeling through the movie, but it rarely delivers on the ass fetish that the title suggests. The technical aspects show some pretty good care, and there's a touch of effort put into the extras as well with a short behind the scenes featurette. This is a pretty good release that would have come off much stronger with a more appropriate title.

Note to Twistys: If you're going to put a title on a movie that suggests a certain fetish, please include scenes that show some effort towards that fetish. The sex was definitely good from start to finish here, but rarely delivering on the premise a title like Butts on Display puts out there cost you at least a half point towards the sex as well as the overall rating here. Also, giving credit where it's due is always a good thing, so please credit the guys in your movies as well as the girls. With the couples friendly feel your movies have, you're liable to pick up a few more viewers if the ladies know what guys are in the scenes too.
