Initial Expectations: Dion Giarruso has shown a nice eye for talent behind the camera as well as how to turn out a well made DVD. Although this is the first I've seen from Combat Zone, I can't help but have some hope here.

Initial Reaction: It's straightforward, but very nicely done and lets Combat Zone make a very nice first impression.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are nicely done. The audio is clear and well balanced, but there are a couple very minor background noises. The video is presented in the full frame format, and also nicely done. It's clear and well lit, and although there is a little camera motion it's never so much as to throw one out of the scene.

Music: There's a little music to start some of the scenes that's nicely balanced with the rest of the audio.

Menus: The main menu is decent, and blends a bit of the boxcover with a clip from the movie and a little minor animation. The chapter menu shows some nice care, and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene as well as the name(s) of the girl(s) in each scene.

The Feature

The action was also set apart from a lot of other fresh talent releases by the girls actually feeling like they had an idea what they were doing in front of the camera. There was a little camera mugging, but not a lot, and the girls actually looked to be fresh and fresher talent rather than girls who have been around for two or three dozen movies who just looked young. Aubrey Addams and Kitty Tyler easily put out my favorite scenes here, while Naudia Marie's horrible teeth held her scene back to being the weakest while still letting her show plenty of potential. Naughty Amateurs might be a simple and straightforward fuck flick, but it shows that simple and straightforward isn't always a bad thing. That feeling lets Naughty Amateurs be just as good for strokers as for couples looking for some hot action without putting up with bad acting.

The Extra Stuff

The photo gallery lasts about five minutes with roughly seven seconds per good looking snapshot. There's also cumshot recaps, web access, and a behind the scenes featurette.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts about nine and a half minutes. After a few quick clips around the set things focus on Aubrey for a few comments, a bit of the action being shot, and a few clips from the scene. It nicely moves from scene to scene with more of the same, while also mixing in a few clips of the photo shoot. This is an okay behind the scenes featurette. It's a little jump and feels like there's as much footage from the movie as there is behind the scenes clips. There's a nice feeling to this BTS at first, but as it goes on it feels like there isn't really anything new. At least it does give each girl a bit of attention rather than only focusing on one or two of them.

The technical aspects are very nicely done, and there's some decent effort put into the extras. This is a nicely done DVD that makes a very nice first impression for Combat Zone.
