Initial Expectations: TeraVision has been a bit hit or miss with me, but has done enough good that I look forward to seeing what they put out. The little I've seen of Ethan Kane really impressed me, so I'm really looking forward to seeing what he can do with TeraVision.

Initial Reaction: Ethan Kane is showing himself to be a director deserving of a lot more attention than he's getting, and his debut for TeraVision is the hottest release I've seen from either of them.

Who Should Watch It : Anybody who wants gonzo style sex with a bit of style

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody who doesn't like heavily artistic and stylized porn

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are pretty good. The audio is clear and well balanced, but there are a few background noises. That is, I think they're background noises. They're a bit repetitive so with Kane's style they might be intentional, but they did interfere with the action a little for me. The video is presented in the full frame format. It mixes black and white and full color footage throughout the scenes, and has a slightly skewed look to it like it was shot through some kind of filter. It isn't off so much as to ruin the scene for me as I kind of liked the different look, but I can see it really hurting the movie for some people. The lighting is also a bit on the artistic side, and leaves in a few shadows while others appear a bit bleached out. All that said, the presentation style is either going to work for you or not but it never feels sloppy.

Music: The music, which is done by Ethan Kane, moves in and out of the movie. During the opening tease for each of the scenes it's the only audio, and then it drops back for when Ethan's chatting and playing with the girls. When it's time for the sex it completely drops out. It has a touch of a porno style, but doesn't feel generic or rehashed.

Menus: The main menu nicely blends the boxcover with a bit of the movie in an artistic manner that might lose some people but which seems to fit the movie perfectly. The chapter menu is very plain and a bit generic by just letting you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and a scene number rather than giving you something useful like the name of the performers in the scene.

The Feature

Although well known for his artistic styles, Ethan Kane steps out a little with his first release for TeraVision. He keeps much of his artistic style, but goes more for a gonzo style with the sex. Each scene starts with a little artistic tease before Ethan chats with the girls and plays with them as they continue to show off. Finally, he lets them get it on with a guy or two.

That said, the scene isn't just about Maya and there's a great balance between the girls and a feeling that they're both completely into each other as well as Marco. This is a smoking hot scene.

Scene 3 ? Ana Nova, Alec Knight, and Ben English

Dirty blonde Ana starts out the final scene in a little black sexy outfit walking around what looks like it could be a locker room to put on her show before the action cuts to Ana sitting on a white couch between a well dressed Ben and Alec as they chat with Ethan. While Ben is there the entire time, Alec moves in and out giving the impression that he was having some major wood problems. He does good while he's there, but the flow of the scene is hurt with him moving in and out and I can't see a reason anybody would do that for a scene without having to. This is a good scene, but compared to the other two scenes it's noticeably weaker.

Decadence is an extremely impressive blend of sex and style. In the little I've seen of Ethan Kane in the past he showed himself to be more than proficient at blending sex with lots of artistic style and a bit of story, but hearing that he was moving to more of a gonzo feel here I couldn't help but be a little worried. Those fears disappeared within moments. Paola's opening scene with Mario is easily one of the best one on one scenes I've watched so far this year, and Maya and Victoria's scene with Marco is just as hot. I was really surprised at how well Kane's interaction with the cast worked throughout the movie, as it never interfered with the action and more often than not kicked up the chemistry a notch. Although even the shortest scene lasts over a half hour, the action never drags and also feels like it has a fairly natural flow to it. If there's a complaint here it's no doubt going to be about Kane's artistic look to the movie, which I can understand for some people who want things crystal clear and straightforward. The look wasn't a problem for me as I quickly got used to it and liked how it set the movie apart from so many others than might be similar sexually. The other problem for me as Ana's scene, which was a little weaker due to Alec Knight coming and going throughout the scene. At the same time, with how well she took it in the ass it's hard to get down on the scene too much. Ethan Kane has set the bar extremely high for himself at TeraVision with Decadence, and I can't wait to see what he does next.

Sadly, not only isn't there a menu to let you choose which trailer you'd like to view, but they're also all included on the same chapter so if you've already seen a movie you can't easily skip past its trailer to get to something which might interest you more. The photo gallery includes nearly three dozen very nice looking snapshots and cropped photos. There's also weblinks and a behind the scenes featurette.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts twenty minutes. After a few shots around the set, Maya Hills talks about her upcoming scene, wanting to sell real estate, and why she loves porn and sex. She shows a great head on her shoulders who realizes the big picture with some of the tips she gives for girls interested in getting into porn before heading off to get some much needed coffee. Victoria talks a little about her upcoming scene, notching her bedpost on and off camera, disliking personal drama, and getting into porn. Ana gives a little personal background and talks about how she went out in search of porn, mainstream guys she'd like to see in porn, liking direct guys, and the differences between guys in the US and Germany. This is a very nice featurette.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many of TeraVision's DVDs can be found online for between about $19 and $25 with several stores offering them for about $20. This one's well worth the money. The movie is hot as can be and shows just how well sex and style can merge. The technical aspects are artistic and might put off some people, but they also help to give the movie a lot of its style. Finally, there's some nice effort put into the extras including a very nice behind the scenes featurette. This is a great DVD that's definitely worth picking up.
