Someone, in commenting on classic porn from the 1970s, said that the goal was to make a movie that was still watchable with the sex taken out. That's the way Nic Andrews makes porn films. From the standpoint of plot, writing, acting, and cinematography, this film is way, way above average. This movie is worth watching even without the sex. It is an outstanding couples film, or film for people who are newbies to porn. Don't get me wrong, the sex is good, it's just that it isn't raunchy or cutting edge. Also the sex scenes are a little short; each should have been about five minutes longer.

"A Gay Man's Take on Straight Porn"

Well, this is the second Digital Playground disc I've seen, and the first I've ever reviewed, so how did it stack up?

The Movie: Okay, I'm going to start this off by saying that if you hate movies with a lot of talking and character stuff, then avoid Stripped at all costs. This movie is very dialogue heavy, and all the sex is very spaced out. There are several really well done strip scenes, but I don't know if many would find them all that worthy of wank material. This is a very strong couples film, but is not a very good whack movie.

I guess, that its the first porn movie I watched, when I was more interested in the plot than the sex scenes. It can mean two things: First that the plot was so great that nothing more counts, or Two that the sex scenes were so bad that even the plot (which in average porn movie is generally lousy) looks great. In this case both things are partly true. The plot is really better than the sex scenes, but on the other hand its not as good as one can expect, and the sex scenes are maybe not the worst in the world but not so great too.
Anyway, to watch this movie was pretty refreshing. It was harder than the soft porn movie but lighter than the average porn. And this is a great plus, however I have seen dozens of soft porn movies where the intensity of the sex scenes was hundred times higher than in Devon Stripped.
Moreover the cast (girls) was done poorly. Except Devon and Daniella Rush there is no one else to take a closer look.

The Plot:
The plot is based on a true story, so here you go. A young actress (Devon) cannot find any job in the movie industry (all they want from her is just to showem tits). She has problems with paying the bills and she has problems with her unemployed (musician) boyfriend (Barrett Blade). Devons friend (played by Ginger Lynn) suggest her to find a job as a stripper. Then Devons going deeper into the business and starts to give some lap dances, and private shows (in clients houses) including fucking. At the end she finally realized herself in the movies as porn star. Sounds nothing special, but the director (Nic Andrews) drives the plot pretty well and in a interesting way.

Sex Scene 1 (Devon & Barrett Blade)
Pretty average one. Actually I found busty Devon pretty attractive. She has a cute face and not so bad body (but shes too skinny for my taste). Her great problems are boobs (implants). Dont get me wrong. I love busty babes and I dont care if their tits are real or fake, but they must have some natural shape. In this case the tits looks pretty poor. I mean they look really awesome in bras and baby-t but naked they are ok only when she sits or stands. In doggy or misch they just look more artificial than everything I saw lately (they stand like the pyramids or something). Going back to the scene. First he eats her pussy, than she sucks his cock. He fucks her in doggy, than in misch and unload the ammo on her stomach. Not bad but also nothing special to write about. The sound, like in most sex scenes in this movie sucks.

Sex Scene 2 (Ginger Lynn & Anthony Crane)
Ginger is back in business (I guess thanks to the Metallicas video) but shows nothing special in this scene (this is not an average sex scene by the way). She works as a stripper in the club, so first she goes with a striptease and dance and than shes giving a less than warm lap dance for Crane. The whole scene is seen by Devon whos standing nearby. I know that Ginger is a real star, but I never was her big fan so I dont care how old she, how she looks like after all these years and so on. And this scene was just average.

Geeze, Daniella is really, really hot here and thats a pity that she wasnt fully use in the movie. She shows some great energy and looks really pretty. Unfortunately we cant see what happened between Jay and Daniella, but it had to be something real hard, because she passed out.
In the meantime Devon is taking care of Julian. She goes down with some decent sucking, and hot mish and doggy. The ammo lands on Devons ass. Again the background music was higher than the vocals, but it was better than in the other scenes.

General Opinion:
As I said before I like this movie. The plot was pretty cool and interesting. And shows one more time, that (if it is really true) the real life writes better screenplays than the professionals. Also the great advantage of this movie is no anal scene. Finally some movie you can watch with your girlfriend without embarrassment. The Behind The Scenes feature is pretty cool, but only for one time viewing. There are two major dislikes. First, the energy performed during the sex scenes was in general below the average. And Im not talking about that the sex should be nastier or more perverse. I just would like to see the actors performing a real sex not boring fucking.
Only at the end of the movie there is a great (but short, like few seconds) part when Devon is fucked by some dude in doggy and there is the intensity that you cannot find during the whole movie. The second thing that I dislike most is the female cast. There is one hot girl here (Daniella Rush) and the other is almost hot (Devon) but only when shes wearing bra. The rest girls are just ok, which is too little for my taste. Moreover you cannot see the hottest chick (Rush) in full sex scene, and you cannot see Devon being fucked and wearing something. A tip to the directors: Sometimes sex looks much hotter when the chick is wearing something, but unfortunately it is not something that happens too often in the porn movie.
