The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are pretty good. The audio is nicely balanced and clear, although there are a few points in the girl / girl section where you can hear the girls being given directions from off camera. The video is pretty good for the most part. Its very well lit and clear, although the girls are chopped off a bit for some segments.

False Advertising: The cover claims that there are interviews and a behind the scenes featurette. I couldnt find either of them on the DVD, which really disappointed me because I always look forward to those. Im deducting a half point because of it from the over score.

Menus: The menus are very simple and unanimated. They have a nice design so I wouldnt say that they give a bad first impression, but they do look simple, which isnt always the best first impression to give when you have a high tech DVD.

The Feature

Smash Pictures returns to the world of virtual sex simulators with a second offering in the My Play Toy line, this time putting Red Ezra behind the camera. Once again theyve decided to mix things up a little bit, and rather than giving you just one girl to play with, have given you both a blonde, namely Nicole Sheridan, and a brunette, namely Kaylynn. You can choose to just watch one of the girls, watch them take on each other, or have a threesome with them. The action takes place on about the top 80% of the screen, while the choices are lined up nicely at the bottom of the screen allowing you to adjust between girls, sexual selections, and your instant orgasm. The only thing thats missing here is being able to adjust between angles, which isnt a big deal despite every segment having two true angles you can choose between.

Smash gives you many of the offerings youre used to for a virtual sex simulator. The girls will strip down for you and work themselves over with either their fingers, a dildo, or a vibe. Theyll also suck your cock either solo or as a team. Sexually the girls only do a couple positions, specifically missionary and doggie, but unlike every other sex simulator out there I know of, the girls will let you choose which hole you want to fuck them in for the position and whether you want to fuck in that position with just one girl there or both of them. You can also just sit back and watch as the girls take on each other. Theyll work on each other with their tongue, their fingers, or a dildo, and will even let you work the dildo into each of their holes. Finally, the girls will do a bukkake.

On paper, this is great. Ill easily sacrifice a couple position to have anal for the two positions that are included, and I love the ability to watch the girls take on each other or to have a threesome. Sadly, the reality isnt as good as it sounds on paper. The biggest problem here is the looping. The main segments last from a low of just over a minute with both of Kaylynns vaginal positions and her diddling herself with her fingers and the dildo to a high of over three minutes for each girls strip tease and Nicoles hummer. Most of the segments run between about a minute and a half to a minute and three quarters. In each segment theres a short lead-in where the girls basically tell you what theyre going to do. When the segment loops, it returns to the very beginning so you go from something like a very vocal and pumped up Nicole getting fucked to one thats quiet and hasnt even gotten the cock. This pretty much kills any momentum that was generated in the segment, and since very few sexual segments last over two minutes (three to be exact, two in the girl / girl and one in the sex with Nicole receiving in all three cases), it was very hard for me to get into any of the sequences. If the segment loops would have returned to about fifteen seconds into the segment, which I think could probably be done with two chapters per selection, the entire flow of the sex would have been improved.

The three-way segments also didnt work for me. This was one of the ideas I liked best about My Play Toy 2, but it was a complete disappointment because the second girl just seemed to be there for moral support. You fuck one while the other looks at you, talks, and maybe plays with the girls clit. I think the heaviest threesome action is Nicole giving one of Kaylynns nipples a couple sucks. The threesome works much better with Kaylynn getting fucked, as Nicole does a good job with her nasty eyes and trash talking, but when Kaylynn was out I was completely bored. Sadly, this was one of the things that seemed to have the most potential as both girls normally put out a great group scene. I had high hopes for a little ass to other girls mouth action during the anal, but there wasnt a single instance when one of the girls would suck Voodoos cock while he fucked the other. At one point, Kaylynn was even begging Nicole to take Voodoos cock out and suck it. The virtual threeway started off very rocky for me, but that really deep-sixed it for me.

Cumshots have always been an important part of virtual sex DVDs, and seems to be one of the biggest things to separate the men from the boys in this genre. Thats no different here, and ended up being another huge nail in the coffin of My Play Toy 2 for me. Out of twenty pop shots (three for blowjobs, one for bukkake, and eight for sex with each girl), theres only one real pop. Ill admit that its a great pop as Voodoo blasts it from Nicoles clit all the way up to her face after fucking her ass missionary style, but the rest of them are horrible. Theyre animated in a fashion that I wondered at one point if Roger Rabbit was called in to be a stunt cock, but ruled that idea out because I dont think the editors could have been able to get rid of the entire Puh-puh-puh-please!. I also wondered if Busta Nut was brought in, but I didnt see a black cock in there either. Before my mind moved on I wondered if Elmer Fudd was inspired by Dave Cummings and has joined the world of porn. Whatever happened, it was the biggest thing to hold the movie back for me, and the thing that caused My Play Toy 2 to end up with a below average rating sexually. The girls dont just react to the fake animated pop, they over-react to it. I actually laughed out loud a few times as they ooooooed and ohhhhhhhhhed to the pop, found myself not even wanting to see them after the first few because I was so afraid of how bad theyd look. The overreaction to the animated pop also made me doubt pretty much every reaction the girls gave to the real action too. The pop shots are every bit as bad as the how the segments loop, if not worse.

The final problem I had with My Play Toy 2 was some of the camera work. Its very nice for the solo and oral segments, although the editing for the strip tease is extremely jumpy and would have been better broken into three segments. After that it has a few problems. The biggest problem is its scope, as its rare you see the girls face while youre fucking her in any of the segments. I know that its probably a hard angle to get for the doggie, but it shouldnt be for the missionary. During the missionary segments the top edge runs right about at the girls upper lip, cutting off most of her head and basically refusing to let you see the girls reaction to being fucked. When I went to the alternate angle, I got a close-up of the penetration instead, which of course didnt do much for me. The doggie segments focus pretty well on Nicole and Kaylynns excellent asses, but once again feel just a little too tight in scope. Thankfully things go to a full screen for the pop shots so you can actually see the girls overreact to the fake pop each time.

My Play Toy 2 has a lot of potential, but bungles it pretty well instead. I love being able to choose between two girls and the sex acts which are offered, and the girls look great and do a nice job with what action is here. The looping of the segments and the pop shots, however, hold things back so much that I was wincing and laughing at several points of the DVD. Smash has been showing a nice ability to learn recently, so although I was disappointed with this installment I still have hope that Smash can recover with a third installment of the My Play Toy series.

Currently, many Smash DVDs can be found online for between $14 and $24 with most stores offering them in the $20 range. Rent this one first. If youre a fan of either of the girls it might be worth it, but the virtual mechanism is very clunky and might impede many future viewings. Theres also not much for extras, although the technical aspects are well done.

Note to Smash: Youve been showing some nice progress with your movies and DVDs lately. I hope that My Play Toy 3 can easily overcome this installment.

Imitation can often be the sincerest form of flaterry, and "imitation" is exceedingly common in the adult industry. However, when done poorly, it's just a rip-off, and My Playtoy is definitely a rip-off. It's a blatant copy of Digital Sin's highly acclaimed series My Plaything, but this is not My Plaything and this was not created by Digital Sin. Not even close.

Like My Plaything, My Playtoy is sex simulator in which the star of the DVD attempts to have sex with the viewer, and through the remote control, the viewer has total control. Unfortunately, the options available in My Playtoy are ...
