Karen and Kelle Marie's scene opens in black-and-white for some tease on a kitchen countertop. Why do some directors insist on black-and-white segments in their films? I just didn't see the point of obscuring the girls during their teases. It's like a good 30 minutes of the movie were just completely wasted. Seriously, I would have enjoyed the film a lot more if the opening segments were just edited out all together.

Apart from this major complaint, "Girl Play" was an average, if rather "safe" and timid hardcore release. The cast was full of cute new girls, the sets and lighting were pretty good (apart from the "artistic" openings) and the performances were uniformly adequate. There was just something missing, sexually, in the release that I can't quite put my finger on.

A lot of the cumshots were pretty lame, particularly Kelly's and McKenzie's. Come on, I don't pay all kinds of money for porn to see a girl's neck or stomach covered in cum. If this is a "Female's point of view" in porn, I think I'd rather go back to a male's point of view with lots of facials and anal, and no crappy artistic teasing. The action here was o.k., but it was a little too tame and not up to usual hardcore gonzo standards. I was definitely left wanting more out of "Girl Play," but if you're a DVSX fan, this one's probably worth a rental. Just fast-forward through the beginning of every scene.
