I've been a fan of Joanna Angel and her website Burning Angel since awhile before the "alt.porn" craze got going. I live in Brooklyn, and sometimes go to her nabe, Williamsburg, to drink, and ran across a bartender who was talking about Joanna and the site. It turns out the bartender is actually ON the site, so i decided to investigate. I really enjoy the approach, almost in the old, "hey kids, let's put on a show," but with piercings, tattoos, and real cumshots.

Since then, a lot has happened for Joanna, and while she seems to have triggered the strange affections of Luke Ford, as well as the requisite backlash, I think it's all pretty funny. People take this shit too seriously.

All the footage on this DVD comes from the site. The "Re-Penetrator" clip is a featurette that spoofs the Stuart Gordon horror classic "Re-Animator," in broad, campy terms (and considering how campy the source was, it's pretty campy). To be honest, I don't find the scene interesting or sexy. But it did win an AVN award, and it may appeal to some viewers in the manner of the old New York Dolls song "Frankenstein."

The reason to rent this DVD is the bonus stuff: three clips from the website that are frisky, fun vignettes featuring Joanna and girls from her pussy posse. My fave is the two-girl BJ on comic doofus Tommy Pistol in the spoofy "The Jizzsperiment." Margaret is quite the pale young innocent, a lovely "real" looking girl who you never see in porn, at least past the first week in the biz, who shares Tommy's pistol with Joanna, and generally gets dominated in a playful manner. (Joanna likes to shove Margaret's head down so she takes Tommy to the hilt, gagging and spitting and laughing as the cocksman moans loudly).

It's a quick few minutes, but lots of fun and mad strokable. Like the other clips, the sex is presented in a light-hearted way, the camera work is loose and a tad choppy, and everyone looks like their having a good time.

The main problem with this release is that it's totally padded out to fill up the running time. Rather than spend $20 to purchase it, invest in a Burning Angel membership for one month ($9.95 last I checked) and download all the content on the DVD, and more. Hopefully, future compilations will be a better value, though, again, as a rental this is good to go -- especially for Margaret fans, of which there needs to be a teeming planetful.

Re-Penetrator, a clever title and originally released as on the Burning Angel website, is a spoof of all the schlocky horror movies out there. Usually kids would have sex and then the bad guy would kill them. Except this time, Joanna Angel is a zombie reanimated by mad scientist Tommy Pistol and the first thing that comes out of her mouth (besides the fake blood) is "Balls" in a spoof off the zombie mantra, "Brains".
