The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: Not surprisingly, the technical aspects are very well done. The audio is clear and well balanced from start to finish, and I didn't notice a single thing to detract from it. The video is presented in anamorphic widescreen and looks great. The lighting is extremely well done, but although most of the presentation looks fantastic there are a few short moments where a little pixelation creeps in. As usual with Vince Vouyer and well done gonzo porn there is a little camera motion, but it always feels like you have to move quickly to see something important rather than because the cameraman doesn't quite know what he's doing. This is a great looking and sounding movie.

Music: The music has a hard edge that works well for the movie. It varies in balance with the rest of the audio very nicely, and goes from being right out front to resting so quietly in the background that you can barely hear it. There are also times when it disappears completely.

Watermark Warning: Although I don't mind a watermark done right, and I know for some any watermark is a watermark done wrong, the watermark in Anal Cock Junkies is anything but. As one can see in the screen capture from Lisa Ann's scene, it's large and in the main field of view. If that isn't enough, it pops in and out throughout the movie, so the combination between size, location, and flashing on and off makes it a constant distraction through the movie. If this would have been a small and constant watermark kept in the bottom corner of the movie, such as how Shot at Home does theirs, I wouldn't have any problem with it. I don't blame Vince Vouyer for wanting to protect his work and can understand the limitations of trying to do it with the amount of internet piracy out there and the popularity of his work, as it's done here it definitely interfered with my watching the movie and took the overall DVD down by half a point.

Menus: The main menu is pretty simple, and just brings a little animation in with the boxcover. The chapter menu shows a touch of care, and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and the anal junkie in it.

The Feature

This one's well worth the money if you're an anal sex fan. Vince Vouyer mixes things up a little with the scenes, but often lets them have an edge using size or style. The technical aspects are nicely done with the exception of a very intrusive watermark, and the extras show some good care despite being held back further by an even more intrusive watermark. This is a hot movie, but more than anything it's held back by the watermarks distracting from the movie.

Note to Vince Vouyer Unleashed: I love that you're trying to do something to fight back against internet piracy and hold on to what's rightfully yours, but I hope you can find a way to do it that doesn't distract so much from your product.
