To put it simply, Brad Armstrong's ?Aftermath? is every bit as good, if not better, than most of what mainstream Hollywood is currently putting out. With Armstrong's track record on his ?blockbuster? releases I'm not sure it's possible to watch one of his movies without high expectations, and even with those high expectations I found myself growing more and more impressed with Aftermath as well as Armstrong as a director. So often Armstrong's major movies have a heavy production value and special effects component to them, but that isn't the case here. Instead you get attention to all the little details in a fantastic adult drama led by jessica drake and Tyler Nixon.

jessica drake has been one of the most consistent adult performers out there over the last few years. Here she turns out another fantastic performance both with and without her clothes and has fantastic chemistry with Tyler, who's really the standout here. Tyler's been a very solid adult performer, especially for his age, but here Tyler Nixon takes things to the next level and turns out a performance that's impossible to ignore. He brings a perfect balance of curiosity, need, love, and loss to his character, and at this point of the game he's shown himself to be a very strong contender as Best Actor. The movie is made all the stronger by a great supporting cast, and although they're all small roles, every one seems important. Brandi Love is great as Tyler's mom, and Bonnie Rotten and Xander Corvus add some nice humor and support for Tyler in his quest. There's no denying that this movie is all about jessica and Tyler, but it wouldn't be nearly as strong without the supporting cast doing as well in their roles as they did.

Sexually Aftermath also works very well. Once again jessica and Tyler are the true stars of the movie, as they're only missing from two of the eight scenes and share four of them together (including one orgy). With some girls this might grow tedious, but with how solid jessica is in front of the camera I never grew the least bit tired of watching her work. The orgy scene was a bit hit or miss for me for some reason, and it might be that it felt like it was trying to be a little too couples friendly in some of the camera angles despite having plenty of nastier sex. Bonnie and Xander's scene also seemed a bit over the top compared to the rest of the movie, as there was a feeling that was very easy to relate to for much of the movie that just didn't with Bonnie having a screaming gusher of a squirting orgasm on a bus. Those things, however, are the only complaints I can come close to having with Aftermath.

From start to finish, Aftermath is an amazing adult drama. You get a solid story, great acting, solid sex, and plenty of attention to all the little details. This isn't your typical adult movie where no matter where the story takes place in the world it looks like southern California, as Armstrong even cared enough about the movie to shoot on location in New York City. It's that care towards the details that permeates the entire being of Aftermath and really makes this a movie that stands out above the rest of the competition.

The Extras:
As usual with Wicked's Blockbuster releases, there's some very nice attention given to the extras. In addition to the usual Wicked extras, you get interviews and extra sex scenes.

Bonus scenes are included for both Bonnie and Xander's scene as well as jessica and Tyler's kitchen scene. To call them bonus scenes doesn't seem quite right as they're more like extended scenes. Xander and Bonnie's scene is much bigger, and includes more squirting as well as full blown fucking in a few positions including anal instead of just oral play. It's a very solid scene and a great addition to the overall package, but I like it much better here as a bonus scene as I don't think it would have fit as well in the movie as it does here. jessica and Tyler's scene also includes a bit of fucking rather than just oral fun

A pair of deleted scenes are also included. There's a short conversation between Tyler and Brandi that appears to have been cut for time that I can say I'm pretty neutral about it being cut. There's also a few minutes of Tyler wandering around the streets as he tries to find jessica. This segment really didn't add much, and seems like a wise cut. These scenes don't add a lot to the overall package, but they do add a little.

Interviews are included with both jessica drake and Tyler Nixon lasting about twelve minutes total. In the middle of Times Square jessica talks about the movie and her role in it. She also gives plenty of praise to Tyler Nixon and talks about LA versus New York as well as visiting Ground Zero. Tyler talks about being in New York and the guerrilla filmmaker style as well as getting his big break with this release after being terrified by Brad. Finally, Tyler talks about his many firsts filming the movie. This is a very nice pair of interviews. They're both nicely personal and it's nice to see the conversation being about something other than the standard porno twenty questions. This is a very nice addition to the overall release.

You're going to be hard pressed to find an adult drama as solid as Aftermath this year. Buy it!
