Initial Expectations: The little I've seen of this one has been far from impressive. I just can't get my hopes up here.

?Ass Pumpers? suffers from what I call NDS, New Director Syndrome. Brett Maverick tries his hardest to ruin what could have been a decent flick by putting himself ahead of the talent. We do not watch porn to hear some kid repeating, ?Look at that!? hundreds of times as he showcases (and fondles) the girls? butts. Hey, Brett, we?ve seen butts before; show us some action.

The talent tries hard to make up for the poor direction. But, in the end (so to speak), the lack of heat in the performers is evident and too difficult to overcome. Maverick insists on having the camera pointed in one ...

Bad Seed is a new company that spun off from Adam & Eve somehow. Their claim to fame is that they are the first porn studio to have a mascot. It's a smiling sperm with a spiked collar- let's call him Spermy. The mascot is probably the coolest thing about Bad Seed, at least from what I've seen so far.

Their first release "Big Gulps," which I reviewed as well, left a lot to be desired. The girls were hot but the sex was rather mechanical and clinical. I have much higher hopes for this anal-themed movie with the anal all-stars Melissa Lauren, Katja Kassin, and Lauren Phoenix all lined up to get their backdoors explored.

Scene 1: Kody Coxx (Honey) and some guy

Kody Coxx I know better as "Honey" from Diabolic's "Lewd Conduct 17." She's always been a favorite so I'll have to remember her name change. The guy who she is with draws a bunch of arrows in lipstick pointing directly to her tight asshole.

The first thing I notice about the scene is the atrocious video quality. This includes some of those pesky "halos" which surround performer's bodies in an unnatural blue glow. Also the lighting is terrible. The colors in the room and the skin tones of the performers do not look at all natural. It's really one of the worst-looking movies I can remember seeing in the past several weeks.

The guy, after getting blown for what seems like seconds, invades Kody's ass. He wears a condom which is a personal turn-off. I wasn't aware that Bad Seed was going to be a company that employed condoms, mostly because the only other movie I've seen from them was an all-oral release. Kody gets some more lipstick drawn on her and receives the oral cumshot.

Scene 2: Lauren Phoenix and the same guy

Beautiful fan favorite Lauren Phoenix is up next for another ass pumping. Again the picture quality is awful. Lauren looks all yellow the whole scene as if she is suffering from jaundice. The guy goes almost straight to her ass. It seems like each Bad Seed movie focuses on one specific act to the exclusion of all else. We get very little oral or vaginal sex here and the focus is squarely on the backdoor.

Scene 3: Naudia Nyce and a guy

Naudia looks a lot like Belladonna and is quite the anal mistress too. She's dressed in a not-too-flattering red body stocking of some kind. The lighting's terrible so her bright red outfit doesn't look so hot on screen. Also the camera work of this movie is a great compliment to the lighting, in other words, bad. There's way too many close-ups and disorienting zoom effects for no reason. It's shaky and non-professional. Naudia's scene is nothing special and ends with a bad money shot as the dude fires all over her ass cheeks.

Scene 4: Katja Kassin and a guy

Not even porn super star Katja is enough to save this one. She does a brief anal scene dominated by washed-out lighting and shaky camera work. Most of these scenes seem choppy and heavily edited, I suppose to make sure the focus is squarely on the anal penetrations. Katja's scene seems rushed but it's o.k. due to her presence, mostly.

Scene 5: Melissa Lauren and a guy

Melissa is currently my favorite actress working in adult movies today and I love to see her in just about anything. Too bad this setting and these production values don't really do her justice. Melissa is still the best part of an otherwise pretty mediocre DVD. She gives a sloppy blowjob that's filmed from a terrible close-up angle and gets fucked. Not the best introduction to the work of the great Melissa.

Scene 6: Nicki Hunter and Billy Glide

Nicki is a hard-working blonde with big tits that seems to pop up in just about every recent movie. Like the other girls, her scene is short, and this one is not the best introduction to her impressive work. She gets her ass invaded on a pool table after her pierced pussy is briefly fingered.

Scene 7: Jassie James and some guy

They call this a bonus scene but it comes at the end of the movie, and there's another bonus scene with Alexa to access from the main menu. This one is the brunette Jassie on the same table that Nicki just fucked on. It's certainly nothing spectacular but Jassie looks pretty cute.

Bonus Scene: Alexa and Billy Glide from "Tres Equis XXX"

Here's a bonus from another Latina-themed Bad Seed movie. Alexa, an unfamiliar girl, gets it on with stud Billy Glide. The scene suffers from the same blurry, terrible picture quality that plagues the rest of "Ass Pumpers." Nothing about the scene really turned me on at all. Alexa is not the best looking girl in the world, and it appears as if Billy wears a condom during the fucking, which is a big turn-off for me personally.

"Ass Pumpers" has a whole bunch of anal penetration and an all-star cast that's virtually ruined by amateurish camera work and a bad picture quality. Obsessed Katja or Melissa fan-boys might want to pick this one up, but average porn fans will be well-advised to seek out a movie with higher production values. Bad Seed will really have to work harder to improve their product, I'm afraid.
