The Short Story

Initial Expectations: Although the one scene I've already saw from this release as a bonus scene didn't do much for me, with Michael Raven and Stormy Daniels I can't help but to still have some hope for this one.

Initial Reaction: It's a bit inconsistent, but still has plenty to like.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are well done. The audio is clear and well balanced, but there are more than a few times when they appear to be dubbed in. The video is very nicely presented in anamorphic widescreen. There's a slight touch of grain to the presentation that helps with the artistic presentation to the movie, as well as some definite care towards the lighting.

Music: The music normally dominates the audio. There's some sounds from the performers, but they seem fairly minimal compared to the music. Thankfully that isn't as bad as it might be here since the music is nicely done.

Extremely Borderline False Advertising: Jade Starr and Marlie Moore both appear in the cover credits but don't have a scene in the actual movie. They do appear in a few clips during the opening credits, but that's the full extent of their involvement in the movie and I know that if I picked the movie up to see either of them in action I'd be awfully pissed. I'm deducting a half point because of this.

Disc Complaints: There are two trailers before the main menu that you can't skip. You can scan through them, but that's still extremely annoying if you're not interested in the movie. This always ticks me off, and I'm deducting another half point from the overall score because of it.

Menus: The main menu nicely brings together the boxcover with a small clip from the movie in the background for a nice first impression. The chapter menu is very generic, and just lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene.

The Feature

The Muse collects five scenes which are wrapped around different art styles.

As Randy sits in a chair and draws, smoking hot dirty blonde Stormy lays back on a bed in a little baby blue lingerie. His mind takes him to joining her on the bed where he kisses her from behind and works his hands and mouth around her great body worshiping her and eating her pussy. He gets to his knees so Stormy can suck and stroke his cock in return with some nice throat action and ball sucking mixed in before they fuck cowgirl style. This is a very nicely done scene that's on the loving and artistic side of things. As always Stormy and Randy have great chemistry, which is no surprise as I don't think they've ever let me down in a scene. The action is soft and caring, and has a very loving feel while also keeping things a touch artistic with very nicely done low lighting and a blue tint that doesn't interfere with the action at all. The action does seem to be slowed down a touch to help with the romantic feeling, but the chemistry is so strong between Randy and Stormy that it never comes close to interfering with the scene. This is a very hot scene that starts the movie out very well.

Kayla enjoys a smoke in a dark hallway before she's joined by bald and buff Derrick, who tosses away her smoke and pulls her close for a passionate kiss. They please each other orally with Kayla giving Derrick some enthusiastic head and Derrick moving on to fuck her from behind standing up in the doorway. As they play the action moves from behind in tints of black and blue to full color and Kayla turns around to let Derrick fuck her as they face each other. Finally Kayla gets down and takes a decent pop over her face and pierced tongue as her eyeliner runs over her face.

This scene left me with mixed feelings. Sexually I had a hard time getting into the scene, but at the same time I really liked some of the artistic feeling of the scene. This really seems odd to me as the artistic feeling is much of why I couldn't get into the scene. I love how the shadows were handled showing them getting it on, but the editing was the fast and furious style of current music videos that's very hit or miss for me. Here it was a miss and held the scene back for me sexually while also leaving me loving some of the visuals.

Stormy starts out in a metallic wig, black dress boots, and a sexy black lingerie showing off for the camera before riding the tongue of Voodoo, who's sporting a red mohawk-like stripe among his otherwise light brunette hair. He can't help but let his hands wander around her body a bit. Stormy sucks and strokes his cock in return while giving the camera plenty of eyes before riding him reverse cowgirl style. She lays back for him to fuck her missionary style before getting on all fours for some doggie action. Finally Stormy takes a good pop over her tongue and on her face with open eyes and a smile.

This is another scene that didn't do much for me. Stormy gets into it well and puts out some great looks and some good energy. My problem was the style, which was a music video style that I can honestly say is very hit or miss with me and might have worked extremely well for me if I watched it on a different day. The style is very artistic with choppy editing once again, and here it just didn't work for me.

Smoking hot Asian Gianna and Boston boy Chris start their scene with a fairly classic feeling with Chris running his hands softly around her back and face as he sits behind her. He kisses his way around her neck and shoulder before kissing her passionately on the mouth as his hands wander around her breasts. This is a pretty hot scene. In addition to being an incredibly sweet person, Gianna is cute as can be and almost always turns out a hot sex scene. That's just what happens here, but the lighting is a touch low so that although she looks like she's dressed very sexily you often can't get a complete feel for just how beautiful she is. There's nice chemistry between her and Chris, and the editing style is much more normal instead of the fast and furious music video style of the previous couple scenes. This is a pretty hot scene, but I couldn't help but wish for a little higher lighting to let the action be seen a little better.

At a seventies style party, brunette Audrey and dirty blonde Stormy chat it up with Johnny and Marcus, both of whom are well dressed in shades and hats with Johnny even wearing a coat and tie. After Marcus chats up Stormy and Audrey chats with Johnny the couples start kissing, and naturally the titties come out and they start groping their way around each other as they kiss. Stormy and Audrey kiss a bit as well while the guys play with them, and while Marcus moves down to eat Stormy's box Audrey sucks Johnny's cock with a little help from Stormy. Stormy turns around to suck Marcus as well, and after they work the oral action all around the girls each ride their guy reverse cowgirl style. This is a pretty good scene. The girls look great and although there isn't a lot of swapping around, the little there is adds very nicely to the scene. The scene moves along at a nice pace and has the more standard editing style. I'm not sure why, but there's something about this scene that leaves it feeling very average, and it might be that the seventies style theme has been done more than a little and it didn't feel as unique here as some of the other scenes. The girls do a nice job, but this scene doesn't make it too far past the average mark.

The Muse is a pretty good all sex release. Stormy looks great in each of her scenes, and has some nice help with hotties like Audrey Bitoni and Gianna Lynn. The style of the scenes varies a bit going from fairly traditional and straightforward to the faster and heavily edited music video style, and although there is some very nice chemistry in most of the scenes the variations of the styles gives it a fairly inconsistent feeling. I think Stormy's opening scene with Randy Spears was by far my favorite, while her scene with Voodoo came in at the opposite end largely due to the difference in styles. All that said, if you like a little variety in your porn and want something a touch softer, The Muse is a good release that's worth checking out.

The Extra Stuff

Trailers are included for Last Night, Love Always, The Muse, Porn Valley, Perfect Match, Supernatural, Zen, The Visitors, Becoming Carmen Hart, Made in the USA, and Honky Tonk Girl. In addition to a photo gallery lasting almost three and a half minutes, star galleries are lasting between about two and two and a half minutes included for the entire female cast along with Jade Starr and Marlie Moore, who didn't appear in the movie. In each case you get about seven seconds per very nice looking snapshot. Stormy Daniels and Gianna Lynn also get Star Stats with a few photos, a little personal information, and a Wicked filmography. There's also a behind the scenes featurette, a bonus scene, and the usual Wicked extras.

All Access: The Making of The Muse lasts a little over a half hour and is presented in non-anamorphic widescreen. Michael Raven starts out talking about the movie in general before Mark Stone chats with Stormy, Audrey, and Johnny about their upcoming scene. Voodoo is next, who also has a few words, before Mark chats with Randy and Stormy about his foot thing. Kayla shows off quickly before Gianna and Chris chat after their scene. You also get a little behind the scenes between Stormy and Randy and a little fun with ?Little Princess Stormy? getting a Christmas present. This is a pretty good behind the scenes featurette. You get plenty of Michael Raven working with the cast as well as a bit of personality from the cast through the interviews. This is a nice addition to the overall DVD.

The bonus scene comes from The One. Stormy heads to the bed wearing only a pair of black panties as Voodoo, looking a bit freaky with a blonde kinda grown out mohawk, moves in to kiss her passionately and start worshiping her body. The Bottom Line:

Currently, many of Wicked's DVDs can be found online for between about $15 and $25 with a few stores offering them at the low end. At the lower end this one's a good buy. The movie's a touch inconsistent but there is some nice chemistry through the release as well as some nice artistic work. The technical aspects are well done and there's some good effort put into the extras. This is a pretty good release that's worth checking out if you want softer, more romantic action and no plot.

Note to Wicked Pictures: It's great to see you presenting your main releases in anamorphic widescreen, but if the behind the scenes featurette is shot in the widescreen ratio it would be nice to see it presented in anamorphic widescreen as well.
