The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are pretty good. The audio has a few background noises due to the locations, but that isn't overly surprising with the guerrilla style gonzo Jazz shoots. The video is also pretty well done. It's nicely free of grain, and for a movie that appears to be shot entirely by hand there's not much motion. There are, however, some heavy shadows that interfere with the action.

Music: There's a little music here and there, but never during the action.

Menus: The main menu is pretty simple, and blends the boxcover still with a little minor animation. The chapter menu is nicely done, and lets you choose from a few places in each scene based on a small clip of the action while also letting you know who's in each scene.

It's rough, but at the same time comes off almost playful at times. I know some people like the darker, more intense action, but for me those things also help this scene add a lot of variety to the scene and help show quite a bit of growth by Jazz as a director. This is a fantastic scene, and in addition to being my favorite scene in the movie it's easily the best scene I've watched from Jazz Duro so far.

Scene 2 Judith Fox and Jazz Duro

Jazz gives a look around Budapest after landing in Europe, and spots brunette Judith soon after. Ass Jazz 3 mixes things up a bit from the formula Jazz Duro stuck by for the first two installments. I can see some being disappointed by him lightening things up a touch, but for me it just made me think that much more of Jazz Duro as a director. It shows a bit more variety to his style and that he can mix things up a bit. This was a very nice thing to me because there was a part of me that was dreading Ass Jazz 3 fearing that it was just going to be the same thing as the first two. The other thing I really like here is the cast. Yes, Brazilians have great asses, but most times I'll go with European girls over them. Here it's all European girls, and Jazz has really picked some prime ones. There isn't a bad girl here, but Melissa Lauren and Sandra Romain's scene easily took the prize for me. Maybe it's because of the rough stuff between them and maybe it's because it's the first scene I saw here that started to deviate from the formula Jazz seemed to be sticking to. Regardless, it was a great scene that really drew me into the movie. I was thrilled to see that feeling continue, and it helped Ass Jazz 3 to be my favorite Jazz Duro movie so far. This time around there's even a bit of effort put into the extras, which is a very nice addition. This is a hot and nicely done DVD.
