The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are very nicely done for an old school gonzo style movie. The audio is nicely balanced, although there are a few moments when Chris seems just a hair too loud. There are a few very minor background noises, but they seem to fit in as a part of the location that lends authenticity to it rather than feeling cheap or like somebody didnt edit the movie well enough. The video is also very nicely done. Theres barely any grain and the few shadows that pop up feel like they should be there. For a movie that appears to be shot mostly from a hand held position, there are very few camera shakes or soft focus problems which normally interfere with movies like this.

False Advertising: Ben English is listed in the opening credits of the movie, but doesnt appear in the movie. Normally Id deduct a half point from the overall score because of this, but Im not here since he isnt listed on the cover with the rest of the guys and because for some reason I feel like being a nice guy while writing this review. Ill chalk this one up to a rookie mistake, and hope that 3rd Degree doesnt make the same mistake twice (cuz then I might not feel like being a nice guy).

Menus: The menus are very nicely done. The main menu blends a little animation, a still from the cover, and a clip of the movie. The chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a clip of the scene, a scene number, and the names of everybody in the scene.

The Feature
