The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are great. The audio is phenomenal, and I didn't hear a single background noise or sound that didn't seem like it shouldn't be there. As usual with Digital Playground, the video is presented in anamorphic widescreen and looks great. The lighting is very well done with the entire movie having almost a hint of grain that bumps the artistic presentation of the movie very slightly. This is a fantastic looking and sounding movie.

Music: The music is extremely well done. It varies in style a little throughout the movie, and frequently has a playful feeling to it. Regardless of the style, it always helps out the scenes.

Menus: The main menu nicely blends a little animation with a few stills from the movie. The chapter menu starts out fairly generic with a clip of each scene and a chapter number, but rises above it by letting you know the name of each girl in her first chapter.

The Feature

Okay, I'll admit it. I'm one of those guys who actually liked Celeste's slow motion, music only movies. I've even been a little disappointed with some of her recent movies because she moved away from that style due to it being nicely different from so many of the other adult films out there and how well she made it work. With Jana Cova in Blue, however, those thoughts quickly fell aside. It uses the ?light feature? style that Robby D. has been frequently using over the last several months with the movie ending up about halfway between a vignette and a full fledged feature, and it seems perfect here. The thought of Jana needing to become a bigger slut is amusing on its own, but with how well she and the rest of the cast play into it with the scenes it gets better than I would have ever hoped, with plenty of humor as well as plenty of charm. There's a nice variety to the sex scenes as the cast shows Jana how to be a slut, and Jana does just as good of a job with a few helpers in her scenes. There's no way I'd be able to pick out either a best or worst scene with how well the movie worked for me, but Jana's scenes do have a touch more humor in them with the ?Slut for Sale? and ?Slut Inspector:. I also like some of the artistic touches, such as starting out several of the scenes with a face in the TV screen look and Celeste's continuing effort to make the girls look beautiful with sexy and sometimes creative outfits, but everything about the presentation from the camera angles to the editing worked extremely well for me. Jana Cova in Blue is a great movie, and easily one of the best movies Digital Playground has put out in the last year as well quite possibly being Celeste's best movie yet.

Currently, many of Digital Playground?s bigger releases can be found online for between about $18 and $28 with a few stores offering them for under $20. Don't bother worrying about the price on this one. The movie is fun, hot, and very easy on the eyes. The technical aspects show some great care, and there's even some effort put into the extras. This is a very nicely done DVD and one of the most enjoyable movies I've seen from Digital Playground.

Note to Digital Playground: The only thing that held this one back from a perfect ?5? overall was the extras being a little weak. Even then it was a close call, so I hope you leave Shay Jordan behind the camera and put out more movies so I can give you that rating!
